SHRI GAJANAND MALPANI S/o Shri Kanhaiyalal Malpani, aged about 60 years, is a commerce graduate from the University of Rajasthan. After graduation he shifted to Bombay for a short period to gain business experience under the guidance of his elder brother Shri Deendayal Malpani. Thereafter, in the year 1976 he migrated to Surat, where he started his carrier as “adhat”/ commission agent. In a short span of time under his eldership the group started spreading its business empire by setting up shops for dealing in art silk cloth at the prime textile market of Surat. He successfully started the first manufacturing and processing plant of the group in the year 1982. Under his stalwart leadership the group business diversified into construction, land organization and property management, banking and finance, fast moving consumer goods and entertainment. He is actively associated with various social organizations and he is an active member of various social bodies. He has also honoured the Chair of Presidentship of Gujarat Prantiya Maheshwari Maha Sabha. He promoted The Textile Co-op. Bank of Surat Limited in 1995 in association with other 10 high profile businessmen.
Shri. Gajanand Malpani is also founder of the textile manufacturing group well-known as ‘RAMAYAN GROUP’ way back in the year 1976 on a very small scale on relatively low profile. In a short span he shifted to the business of trading in art silk cloth.
A ‘Golden Feather’ in the cap of “RAMAYAN GROUP” is the establishment of the Madhusudan Rayaons Private Limited in 1992 under the promotership of Shri Gajanand Malpani and Shri Srikant Mundra in the field of manufacturing and trading of specialised and fancy yarn of an excellent market reputation of its brand in the tax concessional area of Silvassa. It increased its production as well as sales volume throughout India, i.e. Bangalore, Salem, Mau etc. The Company has also diversified its business by way of entering in the era of trading of polyester filament yarn.
Further the group has established its popular retail chain – The “Bedsheet Zone” under the company entitled Chitrakoot Synthetics Pvt. Ltd. and Chitrakoot Exports in various types of bed sheets, quilts, bed coats, pillows, cushions, blankets etc. These are supplied to renowned hotels, hospitals, various dealers and retailers throughout Gujarat.
Further, in the backward integration, the group has established quilting machines in its other firm of “Chitrakoot Exports”.
Shri. Gajanand K. Malpani has also promoted three more units of dyeing and printing of artificial silk cloth having huge capacity of production, namely - M/s. Madhusudan Dyeing and Printing Mills Private Limited, M/s. Sudarshan Textile Private Limited and M/s. Laxminarayan Industries.
The group has also developed many commercial and residential complexes and is also engaged in entertainment, agriculture, banking, finance and investment etc. Under the foresight of Shri Gajanand K. Malpani, our founder Chairman, the group has entered in the amusement and entertainment sector by establishing the first multiplex cinema hall in Surat, equipped with a family restaurant and modern indoor game facilities on Dumas Road in the name of ‘Valentine Cine Vision’. Further the group is preparing for starting amusement park on an island near Dumas.
Apart from business, to fulfill its responsibilities towards society and the nation, the group established a trust in name of Ramayan Charitable Trust, Surat and Vani Vashitha Education and Research Institute, Sikar, Rajasthan under the trusteeship of Shri Gajanand K. Malpani. The group provides education and medical aid and scholarship to the needy persons and students.
